The Chicago tribune has a story noting that the ban on smoking in restaurants is costing Michigan 33 million in revenue.
Does anyone else think passing smoking bans is a bandwagon that everyone is jumping on? I would think that since it DOES seem to be in demand, that some restaurants would advertise as being non-smoking restaurants. These places would attract non-smokers. Those who wanted to smoke would go to other restaurants where it is allowed. I really don’t see how it would not work this way.
In a time where Michigan needs to be differentiating itself and presenting unique offerings, I consider it a bad idea to jump on this bandwagon.
