Lack of Smoke Means Less Cash for Michigan

MichiganExpats – News – See All News

By Mr. Sig,0,4512151.story

The Chicago tribune has a story noting that the ban on smoking in restaurants is costing Michigan 33 million in revenue.

Does anyone else think passing smoking bans is a bandwagon that everyone is jumping on?  I would think that since it DOES seem to be in demand, that some restaurants would advertise as being non-smoking restaurants.  These places would attract non-smokers.  Those who wanted to smoke would go to other restaurants where it is allowed.  I really don’t see how it would not work this way.

In a time where Michigan needs to be differentiating itself and presenting unique offerings, I consider it a bad idea to jump on this bandwagon.

Michigan Expats Podcast Episode 20 - Beer and Music

MichiganExpats - Culture - See All Culture

By Mr. Sig and The Doctor

Mr. Sig and the Doctor reviewed Michigan beer and intermixed it with a bit of music.  This one goes on for over an hour.  I have to say, we had a good time.  Cold Michigan beer was flowing, great Michigan music was playing.  Keep in mind that you can call in live to the show.  We are on gchat at michiganexpats at  Send us a chat and we'll bring you in on the show.  How do you know that we are live?  We'll let you know on twitter and facebook - both michiganexpats and our personal accounts.  Just for the record, Mr. Sig hates saying "twitter and facebook."

We discussed and enjoyed the below beers.

Founders Brewery Centennial India Pale Ale
